Origin
Genmaicha has historically been regarded as rustic tea with a hearty and enjoyable flavor. The Japanese name Genmaicha (literally, brown rice and tea) refers to the addition of rice to a green tea base. This batch of Genmaicha originates in the mountains of west Shizuoka, where the base of spring-picked green tea has been selected from the organic garden of Marusen Isagawa Cooperative, which sits at an altitude of 300-450m, within a wider area known as the ‘organic valley’.
