About Muneishi: Muneishi was Founded in 1955 by Hirotaka Muneishi who made his name from his specialty of hand-crafting Japanese forestry tools like axes, and gardening tools. Now his son, and 3rd generation blacksmith Kosuke Muneishi, who is now the head smith and head of the company, uses his father's passed-down techniques and skills to create kitchen knives, all from scratch, and each step by hand.
